Here are the key reasons why it stands out globally:
🔧 1. Superior Engineering & Build Quality
German engineering ensures durability, precision, and reliability.
Built from high-grade stainless steel, making it hygienic and corrosion-resistant.
Designed for heavy-duty use, handling even the hardest frozen blocks without degradation over time.
❄️ 2. Exceptional Performance with Frozen Products
Can process deep-frozen blocks down to -25°C or lower without tempering.
Handles a wide range of products: meat, poultry, fish, cheese, butter, and more.
Delivers uniform flakes that are ideal for fast and even downstream mixing or grinding.
⚙️ 3. Efficient and Consistent Output
Produces high-quality flakes with minimal fines or smearing.
Maintains consistent flake size, which is critical for process control and end-product quality.
Offers high throughput while keeping mechanical stress low, preserving product integrity.
🛠 4. Ease of Maintenance and Operation
Simple control systems for ease of use with minimal training.
Easy access for quick cleaning and maintenance, meeting strict hygiene standards (e.g., USDA, EU).
Known for low downtime and minimal wear and tear.
🧩 5. Flexible Configurations
Comes in different sizes and capacities to fit small, medium, or industrial-scale operations.
Offers customizable features to meet specific production needs (e.g., flake size, block dimensions).
Integrates easily into automated production lines.
🏆 6. Global Reputation and Support
Trusted by major food processors worldwide for decades.
Strong after-sales support network, with readily available parts and service technicians.
Proven performance across diverse industries – from meat to pet food to dairy.
💡 7. Energy Efficiency and Safety
Optimized cutting action reduces energy consumption compared to conventional block cutters.
Built-in safety systems protect operators and prevent damage to the machine.
In summary, the Magurit Starflaker is considered best-in-class because of its robust construction, efficiency, reliability, hygiene compliance, and superior flake quality — all of which are critical in modern frozen food processing.

The STARCUTTER 314 & 344 models are single-block machines. With their cutting chamber dimensions of 250 x 420 x 650 mm, they are suitable for processing all common standard block sizes, whether Euro 2 blocks (160 x 360 x 560 mm) or 60 lb US blocks (8″ x 16″ x 24″). Thanks to the integrated pneumatic feed system, they achieve capacities of up to 4000Kgs per hour.
The cutting thickness of the knives can be adjusted according to your wishes and technical and technological requirements. The STARCUTTER 314 can be adjusted between 3 and 9 mm, and the STARCUTTER 344 between 14 and 20 mm.
Rotary cutter
For medium production volumes
Cutting thicknesses between 3 – 20 mm
Processing of all standard block shapes, EURO or US
With integrated block pressing system
Can be equipped with C-CUT blade for smaller piece sizes
Easy cleaning thanks to the easy-to-open protective cover
Available with closed or open drum
Other models in the range include
Magurit Starcutter 318 Same as the above but with double block machines with throughputs up to 8,000kgs per hour
Magurit Starcutter LN being an abbreviation for low noise, is the world’s first frozen block rotation-cutter, which development was mainly influenced by the target of reducing the vibration and therewith the noisiness created while cutting the often rock hard frozen blocks.
Magurit Starcutter CIP based on the STARCUTTER 314 and 344 in terms of cutting performance, is the world’s first frozen food cutter that can be directly connected to a “CIP – Clean In Place” system, allowing for automatic internal cleaning
